We are looking for a UK Area Manager to join our team. Malacuna, our lifestyle Hostel brand, is landing in Birmingham, Liverpool & Manchester!

What will you do?

The UK Area Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the operations of all the assets of the assigned geographical area. The UK Area Manager is responsible for ensuring and improving performance, productivity, efficiency, and profitability through effective methods and strategies.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Leading, directing, and managing the daily asset operations (via asset General Managers), including yearly budgeting and forecasting, strategic planning, performance reviews, and compliance with company policies and standards.
  2. Overseeing service quality levels, operational efficiency, guest satisfaction, SOPs, and service compliance, including financial measurements and auditing.
  3. Identifying operational performance, productivity, and efficiency gaps and implementing measures to correct those deficiencies.
  4. Partnering closely with the COO and working according to departmental guidelines and priorities.
  5. Implementing and managing assets' daily quality processes, including communicating goals, empowering team members, managing service recovery techniques, and measuring satisfaction.
  6. Monitoring and developing team member performance, particularly hotel managers and departmental managers, providing supervision, professional development, scheduling, and conducting evaluations.
  7. Controlling operating expenses of the asset's accounts and proposing corrective initiatives.
  8. Monitoring P&L and STR reports.
  9. Updating policies and procedures for the assets in the assigned geographical area in line with the company strategy.
  10. Conducting audits of assets in the assigned geographical area and setting up improvement plans with hotel directors.
  11. Identifying and developing talents and working closely with the HR department.

What do we look for?

  • Hospitality Management or equivalent work experience.
  • 10 years’ experience within operations in the Hospitality sector.
  • 5 years of multi-property management experience, preferably international.
  • Knowledge of PMS and POS.
  • Fluent in English; Spanish and additional languages are a plus.
  • Driving license.
  • Flexibility to travel.
