Your purpose & impact:
As the UI/UX Designer, you play a critical role in defining the design and user experience of our eCommerce platform, particularly focusing on our Shopify-native storefronts. You will be responsible for crafting an engaging, efficient, and seamless online shopping experience that integrates Shopify's native features with custom design solutions to ensure that our platform reflects Estrid’s commitment to inclusivity, sustainability, and innovative design.

You will work closely with product, engineering, and marketing teams, leveraging data analytics, customer feedback, and Shopify’s capabilities to continuously refine and optimise the user journey. Your expertise in Shopify design, responsive design, and cross-platform compatibility will ensure a smooth and user-friendly digital presence. As a key member of Estrid, your work will directly influence growth, customer retention, and our position as an industry leader.

Some of the things you’ll do:

• Lead the design of Estrid’s Shopify-native eCommerce platform, from wireframing and prototyping to user testing and final rollout, ensuring seamless integration with Shopify’s ecosystem and adhering to platform best practices.
• Manage the full design process, focusing on intuitive and visually compelling user interfaces for desktop, mobile, and tablet devices.
• Ensure designs are innovative and align with the latest UI/UX trends.
• Maintain and enhance Estrid’s brand identity across all Shopify-powered touchpoints, ensuring cohesive visual language and user experience.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams—product, engineering, marketing, and customer service—to ensure that Shopify's native capabilities are maximized in delivering a cohesive and engaging customer experience.
• Partner with the engineering team to implement designs that function seamlessly across various devices and platforms, particularly within Shopify’s responsive design framework.
• Manage staging and production designs in Figma, ensuring consistent use of design systems and tokens.
• Oversee the organisation of Figma files for effective collaboration and design consistency across teams.

Skills and experiences important for this role:

• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in UI/UX design, with at least 2 years focusing on Shopify-native eCommerce storefronts.
• Expertise in Shopify's design principles, Liquid templating, and integration of third-party Shopify apps.
• Advanced proficiency in Figma, including managing design systems, tokens, and collaborative workflows.
• Strong portfolio showcasing proficiency in visual design, UX/UI, wireframing, prototyping, and eCommerce-specific design.
• Proven experience in user research, usability testing, and incorporating user feedback into Shopify-focused design decisions.
• Ability to use analytics tools to inform design decisions and measure the impact of UX/UI improvements, particularly within a Shopify environment.
• Strong organisational skills and experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, including meeting tight deadlines within Shopify's fast-paced development cycle.
