Tutor - Counselling

£15,022 - £16,349 per annum
0.5 FTE - Average of 18 hours per week, part time, permanent
Delivery during the week and on open weekends across the year. Course delivery includes one weekend per month.

This is an exciting new opportunity to join our growing team. We are looking for a passionate and experienced Counselling tutor who will work closely within our small Counselling team. The role will involve teaching adults Counselling and our non-accredited Peer Mentoring provision. You will have experience of teaching Counselling up to Level 4 together with vocational experience in Counselling. You will have or be working towards a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.

Within the education inspection framework, you will have autonomy to design, plan and deliver high quality engaging lessons including short course provision for blended and online delivery. Courses may be held both onsite and at venues across the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organise, plan, deliver and assess high quality teaching, learning and assessment on a variety of courses in line with the Education Inspection Framework and University requirements.
  • Design and development of teaching and learning materials including those required for blended and online delivery.
  • Ensuring the successful completion, achievement and progression of all students in the curriculum area.
  • Ensuring the College quality assurance procedures and requirements of accrediting bodies and RARPA are adhered to and accurate courses and awarding body registrations are completed.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Proven recent experience in teaching delivery in relevant subject area/levels.
  • A degree or Level 4 qualification in the relevant subject area, along with a level 5 teaching qualification.
  • English and Maths at level 2 or above.
  • Have or be working towards the Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practices.
