TRUST TRAINEE REGISTRAR ROTATIONS IN ACUTE and SPECIALITY MEDICINE
The Trust is recruiting to our Award Winning Trust Trainee rotations which are equivalent to ST3 posts and deanery approved for IMT3. Each post will include a block of Acute Medicine, a choice of medical specialties including Respiratory, Cardiology, Rheumatology, Endocrinology, Neurology and Elderly Care Medicine. The Acute Medicine block will include Medical Take, HDU and Ambulatory Care.
Please note that specialty choices are subject to availability at the time of interview.
These will all be training posts with full Educational and Clinical supervision. All trainees will be enrolled onto the Royal College of Physicians e-portfolio and be entitled to study leave. The trust's Acute Medicine procedures course and Reg Ready simulation training will be available to all trainees. All trainees will undergo the GMC approved SARD appraisal in February and end of year ARCP in July.
These posts are ideal for those looking for their first registrar post in a busy but supportive training environment and are fully ready for IMT3. IMT (Internal Medicine Training) is the UK's new training scheme for medicine that replaces CMT (Core Medical Training) and the first year of Specialty Registrar training. Its aim is to better prepare trainees for the rigors of being a medical registrar and consultant in a changing NHS.
These posts offer the opportunity to gain experience in a chosen specialty or the option to taste more than one specialty if your career choice is not yet clear. They would also be ideal for those more senior trainees aiming for Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR). Successful trainees are welcome to re-apply for a second year.
To view the main responsibilities, please see the attached Job Description and Person Specification.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
Salary: £41,750 to £64,288 per annum plus on-call supplement.
