Portsmouth Water are delighted to have an opening for a Trunk Main Team Leader for our highly regarded Network Department to ensure the effective operation of the distribution trunk network. You will manage workloads, plan work and lead the team who are responsible for the identification of planned/reactive maintenance requirements, customer enquiries and water supply events/emergencies.

What will you be doing?

Key Responsibilities:

  1. To comply with all policies and procedures relating to Health and Safety.
  2. To proactively protect the wellbeing of self, public and all members of the Network Team.
  3. Delivering excellent customer service when dealing with internal and external customers.
  4. Encourage proactive and effective communications to help develop and maintain professional relationships with internal and external customers.
  5. Promoting and demonstrating continuous improvements to procedures/processes/working practices to enhance the level of customer service delivery across all functions of business activity.
  6. Ensure that all network activities are undertaken in an appropriate manner with due consideration and planning. That all operations are completed in line with the relevant PW policies/procedures/RAMS.
  7. To seek improvements to all key activities within area of responsibility and recommend process improvements to maintain/enhance PW performance to ensure that all internal and external standards, targets and requirements are achieved/exceeded.
  8. Encourage a collaborative working culture across all interactions.
  9. Demonstrate and promote PW Company Values and behaviours.
  10. To actively participate in relevant inspections/audits to ensure performance and standards are maintained.
  11. To effectively maintain own performance and discipline in line with company values.
  12. Reporting of any near miss or actual near miss accidents/incidents.
  13. To effectively participate in any training or development programmes deemed necessary.
  14. Ensure compliance with agreed Department KPI’s and SLA’s.
  15. Ensure that all department processes, procedures and standards are followed in accordance with specification and to a very high and consistent level.
  16. Participate in out-of-hours work as required.

Skills, Qualifications & Competencies:

  1. Full Driving License
  2. Methodical & organised
  3. Ability to work under pressure, whilst managing varying and potentially conflicting priorities
  4. Confident & strong communicator at all levels
  5. Detailed knowledge of water systems and processes
  6. Ability to understand & assess numerical and statistical information
  7. Ability to network, establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal/external stakeholders
  8. Sound knowledge of water obligations & reporting requirements
  9. Detailed understanding of all field activities and operations
  10. Previous water company experience
