Your Responsibilities
An opportunity has arisen for a Finance/Treasury Assistant in the City of London.

  • To monitor and reconcile all aspects of the company's brokerage receivables and payables in a timely and efficient manner.
  • To cover client payments in the absence of the treasury team.
  • To assist in the preparations of Management Accounts/Reporting.
  • To assist with the process and input of purchase ledger invoices into the General Ledger system.
The main duties of this role will include:
Brokerage:
Receivables:
  • Input and reconciliation of data into the brokerage on a daily basis.
  • Setting up new billing details according to traders' instructions and GUAs.
  • Sending recaps of business as required to various counterparties.
  • Liaise with members of front and back office to ensure data has been recorded correctly and investigate/resolve any issues as necessary.
  • Collection/input/reconciliation of any execution not captured by an automatic feed or spreadsheet.
  • Production/checking of monthly invoices from the brokerage system and entering information into month-end documentation.
  • Collection/allocation of monies from counterparties including investigation of any short/over payments.
  • General housekeeping of brokerage system.
  • Recommendations for counterparty write-offs.
  • Liaising with the FIA and ADMIS Chicago in the collection of aged debt from problem payers.
Payables:
  • Reconciliation of payables invoices received on a monthly basis to any data available including the relevant coding for input to the accounting system and debiting of any clients costs to their relevant trading account as necessary.
  • General housekeeping of the SharePoint system.
Management Accounts:
  • To assist in the preparation of spreadsheets for input to the accounting system as part of the preparation for management accounts and management reporting, such as Miscellaneous Accruals, House Accounts, Group Income, Interest Allocation, Salescode Commissions, Commission Analysis.
  • Reconciliation of the ADMISI Trial Balance and investigation of daily cash/net liquidity differences.
  • Additional monthly and ad hoc tasks to assist with Accounting, Management Reporting and Audit issues.
  • Assisting with daily/month end tasks, such as Adjustments, setting up new vendors for approval and inputting/uploading of journals.
Purchase Ledger:
  • Assisting with the process and input of purchase ledger invoices into the General Ledger system.
  • Analysing and preparation of trading platform invoices for any costs to be recharged as necessary, this will include EMIR, CQG, Fidessa, and TT.
Cover within other finance areas:

Treasury:
  • Processing payments for clients/brokers.
  • Allocating incoming funds.
  • Maintaining Daily Cash Sheet.
  • Application of Client Money Rules (CASS) in regard to payments/receipts/checking bank details.
  • Bank reconciliations.
Your Profile
The successful candidate will possess the following:
  • Microsoft Office - Intermediate level.
  • Good understanding of derivatives trading processes.
  • Good level of numeracy.
  • Good level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • AAT qualified beneficial.
  • Previous experience of Brokerage Payables and Receivables.
  • Futures/Derivatives background favourable.
