Job description

Job Title: Travel & Tourism Lecturer
Location: West Yorkshire
Type: Temporary - Part time
Rate: £26 - £29 per hour

Eden Brown are seeking a passionate and experienced Travel & Tourism Lecturer for a Further Education College in West Yorkshire.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging and high-quality teaching to learners studying Travel and Tourism at various levels, supporting their academic and professional development.

This is a part time temporary role to start on Monday 28th April potentially for the rest of the Academic year.

Hours are, full day Monday and half day Tuesday (9:00am - 12:00pm).

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Plan and deliver engaging lessons that align with the curriculum and meet the needs of diverse learners.
  2. Assess, monitor, and provide constructive feedback on student progress, ensuring timely submission of assessments.
  3. Support students in developing both theoretical knowledge and practical skills relevant to the health and social care sector.
  4. Contribute to curriculum development and ensure teaching materials are up to date.
  5. Provide academic guidance, support, and mentorship to students, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  6. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and achievement.
  7. Ensure compliance with college policies, quality assurance standards, and safeguarding procedures.
  8. Engage with industry developments to ensure teaching remains current and relevant to sector needs.

Essential Criteria:
  1. A relevant degree in Travel & Tourism, or a related discipline.
  2. A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, CertEd, or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one.
  3. Experience in teaching or training within the travel and tourism sector.
  4. Strong understanding of current practices, policies, and challenges in travel and tourism.
  5. Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  6. A commitment to student success and inclusive education.
