Our clients include local authorities and government organisations, private developers, house builders, housing associations and education providers.

Our team works across a variety of sectors with private and public sector clients, delivering a broad range of services to public and private sector clients, including:

• Masterplanning
• Development planning, including the production of Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans, Delivery and Servicing Plans, Car Park Management Plan, Construction Management/Logistic Plans
• Healthy Street Assessment and GIS mapping
• Traffic Modelling
• Microsimulation Modelling, including vehicles and pedestrian modelling
• Preliminary access design
• Car parking assessments and design
• Public Inquiries

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a Transportation Consultant to join our team based in our London office, to play a key role in the provision of innovative and effective transportation advice to support some of the most exciting projects in the UK and internationally.

The main duties & responsibilities include:

• Undertake site visits and report to more senior staff/ line manager as appropriate
• Analysis and presentation of transport data
• Produce technical drawings, using appropriate technical software (i.e. Autocad, Autotrack), for checking by others
• Produce forecast of trip generation using TRICS and TEMPRO, for checking by others
• Produce traffic models, using appropriate modelling software (Picady, Arcady, Linsig), for checking by others
• Produce GIS maps
• Prepare technical project reports (Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans, Delivery and Servicing Plans, Car Park Management Plan, Construction Management/Logistic Plans, etc) for checking by others
• Attend and participate in (internal and external) project meetings, as appropriate, alongside senior staff
• Co-ordinate input from other disciplines and specialisms, as appropriate
• Correspond with external third parties (e.g. clients, architects, landscape architects) regarding information and technical queries, as appropriate
• Contribute to producing effective transport planning solutions.
• Delegate tasks to more junior staff, as appropriate
• Maintain awareness of the performance of tasks undertaken against agreed objectives and report back to more senior staff and line manager
• Comply with project management, Operational (QA), Environmental and Health and Safety procedures
• Proactively manage own continuing professional development

The Skills

For this role we require candidates to have the following Minimum Requirements:

• Educated to degree level in a relevant subject (i.e. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering / Geography / Transport / Engineering / Maths / Economics or Physics)
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent knowledge of Excel and Word
• Experience in a transportation and/or transport planning role within a relevant consultancy and/or local authority and have a keen interest in the Transportation sector and sustainable transportation solutions.
• Experience in using technical transportation software such as Arcady, Picady, Linsig, TRICS and Autocad.
• Experience of using your initiative to overcome challenges
• Self-motivation
• Proactively manage own continuing professional development
