Transport Service Manager - 2 year Fixed Term Contract - Newport/Cardiff

What the Transport Service Manager will be doing

The ideal Transport Service Manager will be responsible for:

1. The safety, welfare and well-being of the Transport team.
2. The provision and maintenance of 1500 company vehicles in line with manufacturers and regulatory guidelines or adapted practices as required.
3. Providing information and guidance to HGV Managers to ensure ongoing compliance with relevant legislation.
4. Managing systems such as vehicle tracking, drivers hours, MID, OCRS and Operator Licence administration, SAP and Assure (H&S management system).

What the successful Transport Service Manager will bring to the team

This role is suitable for someone who has:

1. IOSH Managing Safely and Qualified Transport Manager is desirable.
2. Sound knowledge of all relevant transport and H&S legislation.
3. Experience in contract management and transport management with expert knowledge of transport regulatory frameworks and procedures (DVSA as well as relevant safety legislation including LOLER, PSSR and PUWER regulations).
