Job description

Transport Scheduler (Maternity Leave)

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented experienced Transport Scheduler / Route Planner.

This role would suit someone with good knowledge of UK roads (perhaps an ex-driver) who understands traffic, parking, and customer interactions. You will play a key part in creating cost effective and environmentally friendly delivery routes while supporting our drivers and operations team.

Responsibilities:

  1. Managing delivery and collection schedules
  2. Ensuring all delivery paperwork is in order and correct (e.g. delivery notes)
  3. Booking in deliveries and collections with customers and on-site representatives
  4. Liaison with sales and dispatch teams, delivery drivers, & site representatives
  5. Organising and arranging vehicle checks & update maintenance records
  6. Fleet management (fleet insurance, fleet recovery, vehicle servicing, MOTs)
  7. Managing pool car bookings
  8. Managing congestion charges/tolls etc. as required
  9. Booking overnight accommodation for drivers
  10. Organising quotes from 3rd parties, subcontractors
  11. Managing the Fuel Card account.
