Job Opportunity: Transport Route Planner

Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Route Planner to join a dynamic and expanding supplies company based at Trafford Park, Manchester.

As a Route Planner, you will be a key member of a vibrant team, playing an integral part in the success of the business. They are looking for a self-motivated, adaptable individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be a natural communicator with a positive, proactive attitude, eager to contribute to the growth of the company and be part of our winning team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage and coordinate transport activities, ensuring smooth operations.
2. Book installations and repairs, ensuring efficient scheduling of drivers.
3. Monitor incoming emails and work orders, identifying and taking appropriate action.
4. Process new jobs and work orders, liaising closely with engineers and drivers.
5. Keep customers informed of any service delays or issues with failed services.
6. Act as a communication link between customers and drivers, ensuring timely updates.
7. Allocate jobs to drivers, providing clear instructions and monitoring requests.
8. Manage and adapt daily schedules to account for transport issues and changes.
9. Use tablets and tracking systems to allocate and track delivery routes.
10. Collaborate with the Operations Manager to monitor and track vehicle performance and delivery efficiency.

Requirements:

1. Experience in transport route planning is beneficial.
2. Excellent geographical knowledge.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Well-organized with excellent administration skills.
5. Proficient in IT, including Microsoft Office and email platforms such as Microsoft Outlook.
