Transport Planner – Manchester – Permanent Role

Silver Arrow Recruitment have an opportunity for a Transport Planner on general haulage with a reputable, innovative transport & logistics group based in Manchester.

Your Shift Pattern:

1. Monday to Friday,
2. Start times between 0600-0999, finish times between 1600-1900
3. 1-hour Unpaid Break

Your Pay PAYE:

£35,000 Per Annum

Your job:

1. Plan and coordinate the transportation of goods
2. Route optimisation
3. Scheduling deliveries
4. Managing driver assignments
5. Ensuring efficient movement of cargo within the company's logistics network
6. Seeking ways to minimise transportation costs by optimising routes and load utilisation
7. Utilising specialised transport management systems to track shipments, manage driver schedules, and generate reports.
8. Designing the most efficient routes for trucks based on factors like distance, traffic conditions, delivery deadlines, and vehicle capacity.

What we need from you:

1. Strong geographical knowledge
2. Proficiency in transport planning software
3. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
4. Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
5. Understanding of road transport regulations
6. Experience in logistics or transport industry preferred

Perm Benefits:

1. Holiday pay - 4 weeks plus bank holidays. Plus 1 day per year up to 5 extra days max.
