Transport Planner

Our client is an International Global Freight Forwarder, specialising within the Far East and USA as their main areas. Forming partnerships to freight manage their client's global business, leaving the client free to concentrate on its own core business. Their management team is totally focused on achieving higher levels of service both internally and externally.

Now, due to expansion, we are recruiting for a Transport Planner to join the team at the Birmingham location.

Your role will include:

1. Transport Planning
2. Haulage allocation and day-to-day management as required
3. Being the focal point for internal and external customers
4. Completing all requirements and/or offering alternative options to complete
5. Ensuring all Haulage requirements are met by approved suppliers
6. Balancing Cost and Service requirements at all times
7. Managing Key Accounts, sustaining and developing key flow requirements, and providing support to the Multimodal Transport Manager
8. Supplier KPI monitoring and assisting management
9. Developing relationships with all suppliers and focal points at Shipping Lines
10. Transport system development and assistance enhancing house systems to support

In order to apply you will have:

1. UK Haulage operation, FCL / LCL and warehousing operations
2. Intermodal and multiple ports operations
3. Good geographic and container inventory knowledge
4. Excellent planning and attention to detail
5. Excellent communication and influencing skills
