Transport Operations ManagerMUST HAVE knowledge of the Airfreight distribution sector.
We are recruiting for an experienced Transport Operations Manager to join a leading Blue-Chip Airfreight Transport operation based at Heathrow.
The successful Transport Operations Manager will manage a team of 5/6 and circa 40 trucks.
Reporting directly to the UK Transport Manager, the Transport Operations Manager will be the first point of contact for Customers and main hauliers, with a strong focus on planning, customer satisfaction, communication and overall responsibility for Transport operations.
Principal Responsibilities- Responsible for ensuring a coherent interface between every area of the operation to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
- Motivate and develop planners to equip them with the skills to manage their teams of drivers.
- Ensure compliance with all Transport legislations and Health & Safety requirements.
- Be responsible for communication throughout the transport operation.
- Propose and implement changes to the operation to improve efficiency and/or levels of performance.
- Ensure a secure and safe environment for team members and assets.
- Achieve efficiency through managing planning & controlling staff on a daily basis, and an ongoing basis through objectives.
- Manage a team of c.80 drivers, along with planning teams.
- Ensuring key performance Indicators (KPIs) are achieved, including compliance, service and financial targets.
- Ensuring compliance with statutory and Company safety standards.
Person Specification- 5+ years transport management experience in a multi-site environment.
- Good working knowledge of the Airfreight distribution sector.
- An effective communicator at all levels with the personal motivation and confidence to have a positive impact throughout the group. Significant experience of developing teams within a similar logistics operation would be desirable.

Annual Salary £50,000.00 negotiable for the right candidate.
