Transport Manager – Waste Management & Recycling Depot Operations

EXPERIENCED TRANSPORT MANAGEMENT / COORDINATION SPECIALIST REQUIRED TO EFFECTIVELY PLAN FOR A BUSY WASTE MANAGEMENT AND RECYCLING DEPOT

ROLE: Transport Manager – Waste Management & Recycling Depot Operations

SALARY: £35-48K Depending on Experience

LOCATION: Chepstow

IDEALLY YOU WILL HAVE WORKED IN: Waste Management, Metal Recycling, Skip Hire, Aggregates Recycling, Quarrying, Cement, Building Products, Timber, Plant Hire etc.

Previous experience: Assistant Depot Manager / Transport Operations Manager / Transport Manager / Distribution Manager / Logistics Manager / Service Delivery Manager / Depot Supervisor / Transport Supervisor / Logistics Supervisor / Service Delivery Supervisor / Transport Planner / Office Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Manage a small team of drivers
2. Route plan for a range of vehicles
3. Take customer enquiries and provide quotes, maximizing the value of the enquiry
4. Oversee vehicle compliance
5. Get involved in the running of the yard and other elements of the operation

EXPERIENCE:

1. Experience routing specialist vehicles such as HIAB’s, Skip Wagons, RORO’s, FEL, REL, RCV, Tippers, Cement Trucks etc.
2. Front-line management responsibility for drivers
3. CPC in Road Haulage
4. Good working knowledge of the advertised area
5. Confident on the phone and able to offer additional products and services to people making enquiries
