Are you an experienced Transport Manager seeking a new challenge? Join Beesley Fuels, part of Crown Oil, a well-established and respected fuel distribution company.

We seek a candidate with strong leadership skills to manage a team of 12 HGV drivers and a transport clerk. Your responsibilities will include optimising routes, managing budgets, and collaborating with internal teams to enhance service delivery. Problem-solving and adaptability are crucial in this fast-paced role, where you’ll analyse transportation metrics to improve performance.

This full-time position is contracted to 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekends and out-of-hours flexibility as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of fuel distribution logistics operations.
  • Ensure vehicle compliance, maintenance, and safety.
  • Manage routing and scheduling, ensuring compliance with drivers' hour's regulations.
  • Ensure operations comply with Operator Licensing legislation.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimise delivery routes and costs.
  • Maintain compliance with all regulations and safety standards in fuel transportation.
  • Supervise transportation staff and drivers, providing training and development opportunities.
  • Monitor transportation metrics to identify improvement areas and implement solutions.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, customers, and internal teams for timely deliveries.
  • Prepare and manage the transportation budget to ensure cost-effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in transport management, especially in fuel distribution or related fields.
  • Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
  • ADR in tanks and packages is preferred
  • Strong skills in transport planning and routing.
  • Excellent understanding of industry regulations and safety protocols.
  • Exceptional organisational and multitasking abilities with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate a team.
  • Proficient in transport management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical skills for performance assessment and improvements.
  • Motivated and ambitious with a hands-on approach to implementing positive change.
  • Versatile, able to work well under pressure, and willing to engage at all levels.
