The Company
We are working with a market leader who are experiencing significant growth. They have a clear path for future company growth and as such are looking to add a Transport Manager to their team at the Battersea depot.

You will be joining a team of experienced industry professionals with a chance to progress your career within a growing business with an excellent brand reputation. This role gives a chance for someone to lead the Transport function of a blue chip organisation.

The Role
The Transport Manager will support the operations of the Transport department in line with Finance targets and legal compliance whilst achieving the best possible level of service to internal and external customers, delivered through effective engaging and motivational leadership.

Key Responsibilities

1. Achievement of the daily/weekly/monthly KPI's through effective guidance and coaching of Transport Team Managers.
2. Monitoring all investigation activity to understand root cause and ensure that corrective and preventative action has been implemented and solutions identified or escalated where necessary.
3. Manage and deliver briefings to the team to ensure they are aware of, and adhere to all Company messages, policies and procedures.
4. Ensure full departmental compliance through regular monitoring of QHSE, Sustainability and Fleet standards, focusing on team wellbeing in accordance with the relevant policies.
5. Support the control of department resources and costs within agreed finance targets and/or flex accordingly based on volume, WTD and customer requirements without compromising safety, people, service, and costs.
6. Monitor routing reports and work collaboratively with wider teams to reduce damage and manage costs effectively.
7. Take an inclusive approach to continuous improvement by reviewing the operation as a whole and recommending and developing opportunities to peers and depot leadership.
8. Set clear expectations including KPI, safety and team behaviours to all Transport Team Managers by contributing to annual objectives and ensuring Transport Team members hold the relevant skills to effectively complete their roles.
9. Ensure the agency worker process is fully compliant, including recruitment through appropriate PSL agencies, full training and completion of relevant agency documentation.
10. Utilise and analyse relevant data from systems such as Optac, Microlise, Paragon, One Source and other required systems to identify issues proactively.
11. Ensure Transport Team Managers are leading required change throughout their teams to ensure initiatives are fully implemented and their teams are engaged throughout the process.

What We Are Looking For
The Transport Manager will ideally have experience in a similar role and be a forward-thinking individual with attention to detail & the ability to implement change within the transport function.

Ideally, you will be/have:

1. National CPC holder is essential.
2. Previous experience of being a site O License holder is preferable.
3. Proficient in IT and ability to use Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook.
4. Strong commercial awareness with the ability to fully understand budget and financial targets.
5. Evidence of managing and driving change in situations constantly requiring adaptation.
6. Experience of supporting the supervision/management of a transport department ensuring optimum efficiency and effectiveness.
7. Experience of multi-drop, multi-temperature foodservice business preferable.
8. Proven ability to lead and motivate large teams, with excellent people management skills.
9. Work collaboratively and influence to build strong, trusting relationships with peers and other business departments.
10. Evidence of creative and innovative thinking.
11. Solid judgement and influencing skills to provide impetus to get things delivered.
