We are a successful, independent waste management and recycling company currently looking to recruit a Transport Manager to manage and maintain our in-house fleet operation and collection services. Experience in a similar role and industry is essential.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Optimize the routes of all Company vehicles.
2. Oversee all aspects of planned and unplanned vehicle maintenance to reduce time that the vehicles are off the road.
3. Ensure that all relevant vehicles comply with the obligations outlined in the Company's Operators' License, especially regarding vehicle defect reporting, vehicle servicing, safety inspections, and all vehicle records.
4. Maintain a network of external suppliers and ensure cost efficiency.
5. Ensure that the vehicle workshop operates in a safe and efficient manner.
6. Order parts and spares in line with the Fitters' requirements.

Staff Management Requirements:

1. Manage all drivers and oversee their development.
2. Ensure that all personnel comply with Company Policy and Procedures at all times.
3. Maintain clear communications between all employees and departments within remit and across the Company.
4. Identify and implement training needs as required.
5. Carry out disciplinary actions when required.

Essential Requirements:

1. HGV1 License Holder.
2. Valid CPC.

The right candidate will be expected to establish good working relationships with third-party contractors, engaging and coordinating support during peak periods and for specialist needs. The candidate will also be expected to enhance efficiency and control costs while maintaining safety standards and quality of service.
