Pay Rate: £30, 000.00
Grade: RCS P
Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)
Shift patterns: 4 on, 4 off - 7am - 7pm
Location: Prudhoe - NE42 6PL

DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business is seeking a Transport Controller to play a vital role coordinating our daily transport and distribution requirements.

WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?

As part of your normal duties, whilst maintaining excellent health and safety practices, you will:

  • Daily brief and de-brief of drivers in a busy transport office
  • Managing a small team of drivers to monitor performance, compliance issues and HR Management tasks such as performance reviews
  • Contact hauliers about delivery issues, raise incident reports and agree corrective actions
  • Ensure that work instructions and standard operating procedures are followed and check list is adhered to
  • Responsible for ensuring systems are updated in a timely manner
WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?
  • Experience working in a fast-moving transport operation is essential
  • A good knowledge of Drivers Hours and Working Time Directive
  • Excellent IT skills - must have working experience of Microsoft Office including Excel, Microlise and Tachomaster
  • Able to communicate at all levels with internal colleagues and customers
