There are no minimum qualification requirements; however, you must successfully complete the selection process.

This role is voluntary, and hours can be completed flexibly to fit around your current commitments. You are required to complete a minimum of 16 hours per month (192 hours per year). Within these minimum hours, you are expected to complete all necessary training for the role, including annual personal safety and first aid training.

In the role of a Special, you will perform and exercise Police duties and powers, under the supervision of, and supported by the regular police. You will assist the regular police in solving local policing issues in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
Special Constables are required to complete an average minimum of 16 hours per month (192 hours per year). Previous experience as a Special Constable within Hampshire Constabulary in the last 5 years or as a serving Special Constable in another policing area is preferred.
