Job Purpose/ Background

Technology and Operations ("Tech Ops") supports the development of the firm's operating infrastructure to support BlackRock's investment businesses worldwide. Tech Ops establishes and coordinates operational procedures internally and externally with clients, custodians, accounting agents, prime brokers, broker-dealers, and other vendors, as well as strengthen BlackRock's relationships.

Global Fund Distributor Services ("GFDS") is a unit within Tech Ops - Global Accounting And Product Services (GAAPS). GFDS provides management and oversight of BlackRock Fund Transfer Agents and distribution partners that service and distribute our Fund Ranges globally. We also perform governance and oversight of BlackRock's Retail Fund Distribution Partners.

As we look to expand Fund Distributor Oversight (FDO) footprint in India, we are seeking a People Manager Associate to supervise the transition & lead the team. The role will require a wide skill set including the ability to smoothly transition work from onshore team, undertake the operational due diligence at onboarding and ongoing oversight of our Fund Distributor Partners, excellent communication and build partnerships with internal and external partners. You will play a key role in shaping up our offshore team.

Responsibilities

  • All facets of people management to be performed including: coaching and development of staff, leading and motivating as well as performing goal-setting, 1-1s, mid-year and year-end staff reviews.
  • Collaborate with on-shore FDO stakeholder(s) for supporting transition of work/services to Off-shore location which involves smooth handover, adherence to defined policies, procedures, and timelines.
  • Work with internal & external partners to obtain the required documentation from each of our Fund Distribution Partners (FDPs).
  • Undertake an initial analysis and risk rating of FDPs as part of the onboarding process.
  • Ensure FDPs are reviewed in a timely manner on an ongoing basis in line with their risk rating or trigger event.
  • Take ownership of your own workload and drive through to completion in line with agreed timelines.
  • Report on progress to the manager, escalating any obstacles that may prevent you from delivering on your agreed workload.
  • Look for any opportunities to improve business processes and technology tools, with a lens on risk management and mitigation.
  • Develop content knowledge and the ability to absorb and synthesize data/information.
  • Participate in periodic reviews and updates to the operating model/service level documentation.
  • Lead and motivate team towards identifying opportunities for process enhancements and other strategic operational enhancements that facilitate operational processes or mitigate operational risk.

About you
  • Candidate should possess a minimum of 1-4 years of financial services experience and have a good understanding of Financial Markets, preferably within Asset Management, Due Diligence or Transfer Agency Oversight.
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Strong commitment to service excellence with the analytical ability to synthesize information and summarize issues.
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize the most critical business issues.
  • The ability to meet deadlines, multitask and be proactive within a high-pressure environment.
  • Data entry skills and familiarity with spreadsheets and online forms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence that you will flourish on a fast-paced and high-profile project.
  • Strong collaboration skills and experience of working cross-functionally.
  • Intellectual curiosity and the desire to take initiative and deliver results.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
  • Strong in MS Office skills - PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
  • Previous experience working in the areas of Distribution or Onboarding would be beneficial.
