This is a part-time Training Support Manager role working 14 hours per week - Tuesdays and Fridays only.

Working pattern: hybrid working with travel required to other route service locations within Network Rail.
Brief Description

Training Support Manager

The role is to identify business needs and create development plans to help the regions drive safety and performance.

You will be the principal point of contact within the region regarding all aspects of training and competence, dealing with multiple requests and queries daily. Basing yourself within our delivery units daily and being with your customer to triage and react to queries face to face.

As a Training Support Manager, you will provide verified training requests for the planning team to action and communicate with a variety of customers to secure information for the planning team to deliver training. You will always lead by example in all aspects of safety within your team and within the region.

  • Build and develop productive relationships within the route and central functions to secure accurate training demand aligned to customer targets and objectives.
  • Uncover future enhancement initiatives requiring the development of the workforce through training interventions to facilitate accurate resource planning and optimal scheduling.
  • Triage and resolve issues relating to Public Relations for Network Rail Training across the organisation to provide a positive customer experience.
  • Develop the training delivery plan for central projects to meet customer requirements whilst maximising the effective utilisation of the resources available.
  • Be the primary customer interface for customer training demand, and work with the centralised planning team on performance improvement initiatives and impact measurements to meet the customer demand.
  • Deliver optimal utilisation of facilities and resources through effective monitoring and reporting of demand and efficient planning and forecasting for the organisation.
  • Maintain effective relationships within Network Rail Training, maximising the utilisation of training places for the organisation.
  • Develop reporting and communication strategies that deliver business intelligence to the Route to maximise staff competence.
  • Actively contribute to the Network Training business planning process to secure relevant budget for required customer-defined activities.
  • Provide support to the Head of Regional Training for customer development.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to influence others (negotiation skills, presentation skills, building partnerships & relationships)
  • Excellent Leadership skills capable of motivating the team
  • Strong customer focus
  • Knowledge of business planning, commercial and financial management processes, and techniques
  • Knowledge of Learning and Development

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Operating railway (not essential)
