This is your opportunity to become a vital part of the UK’s largest private healthcare provider, specialists in complex care, with hospitals rated outstanding by the CQC.

We are actively recruiting for an EHR Digital Programme Training Lead.

It is a hugely exciting time for our organisation. We are pioneers in providing healthcare solutions to our patients as part of an established US healthcare organization built on over 50 years of experience. To continue our success, we are implementing our five-year One HCA UK strategy, which includes ambitious growth plans, the opening of new sites and significant investments in enhancing effectiveness and alignment as a group.

These growth plans include implementing a real-time end-to-end Electronic Health Record (EHR) platform, a multi-million-pound investment, and part of our long-term digital transformation initiative. Focused on advancing our technology and integrating web-based navigation, this EHR will allow HCA UK clinicians and colleagues to enhance patient safety, quality and care and to maintain our outstanding ratings and continue to be a global market leader in complex care.

In summary

The Training Lead is a pivotal key role in the Change Management, Communications and Training workstream within the HCA UK division-wide EHR programme that will introduce new ways of working for clinicians and colleagues. The role will work with key business subject matter experts and project team members to influence and execute a training strategy and plan. They will lead and manage the delivery of the training company-wide to meet the business needs for the build and launch of the programme. The role will involve designing a training programme to meet the diverse needs of our colleagues across multiple sites and specialties, as well as managing floor walkers and trainers, ensuring the right, fully trained resources are in place to support the delivery plans. Effective training for the wider business and colleagues is critical in the successful implementation of the EHR and the adoption of new business processes. This role is no easy task, with the added complexity of 8 hospitals and the sheer variety of roles within the organisation who will all need varied training; smooth running of this area will be pivotal to the success of the programme.

What you'll do:

  1. Create and design a training strategy to meet the needs of the EHR workstreams for implementation.
  2. Lead the Education and Training team within the Change Management, Communications and Training workstream, ensuring floor walkers and trainers are resourced appropriately and clear on their responsibilities to facilitate the successful implementation of the EHR solution.
  3. Advocate for quality EHR education across the organisation through establishing a visible profile for the programme, ensuring colleagues are aware and take advantage of education opportunities to support them.
  4. Work collaboratively with stakeholders to identify the quantity of floor walkers, where they are required and understand their training needs.
  5. Responsible for the onboarding and performance management of trainers and floor walkers, developing a bespoke induction, ensuring effective 'train the trainer' is delivered.
  6. Responsible for the consistent review of effectiveness of the education/training, identifying gaps in training using feedback to refine and adapt training to increase effectiveness.

What you'll bring:

  1. Experience leading an end-to-end training strategy; creating a training plan tailored to meet an organisation's needs, implementing this within a large and complex organisation.
  2. Experience in a transformational/change programme.
  3. Managing a team of trainers to ensure the training for the organisation is being delivered effectively.
  4. Strong experience of a variety of training approaches, methods of delivery and leveraging learning technologies.
  5. Excellent stakeholder management with the ability to build strong relationships to ensure the training is fully utilised within all areas of the business.
  6. Strong communication and influencing skills.
  7. Learning and Development qualifications.
  8. Excellent organisational and people management skills.
  9. Proactive individual who is solution and delivery focused with great attention to detail.
