Working Hours/Pattern:

Full-time, although we would be happy to consider applicants who are looking to work on a part-time basis. What is the role about?

A Training Lead delivers Reed in Partnership’s training programmes. They are responsible for, in conjunction with the Partnership/Outreach team, promoting training and identifying the training needs to support services and learners. They are also responsible for delivering training; assessing against relevant criteria on accredited qualification delivery; evaluating outcomes; providing follow-up support to learners; administration and continuous improvement of training. A Training Lead will use a variety of training skills and activities to engage and empower Learners and to progress them to achieve the desired outcomes of each training session/course.

Just some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include

Training Delivery

  1. Differentiation including learning styles and classroom management.
  2. Deliver criteria on courses in line with developed content.
  3. Follow lesson plans and activity guidance.
  4. Maintain a professional training environment and resources.
  5. Ensure Learner satisfaction surveys are completed in line with internal requirements and on time.
  6. Deliver course inductions as required.

Training Development

  1. Develop strong partnerships with key organisations to enable valuable training development that meets needs.
  2. Enable co-design and development of sessions, such as, the core content and resources utilised.
  3. Where helpful/appropriate establish co-delivery of sessions to enable better engagement/understanding and asset build in communities.
  4. Work closely with Service Development and Clinical Excellence on all training developments/needs for development.

Training Planning and Marketing

  1. Attend meetings with key stakeholders to partner with and promote the training offer.
  2. Planning and promoting sessions, ensuring appropriate distribution of communications internally and externally to maximise understanding, delivery and attendance at sessions.
  3. Attendance at team meetings, road shows and/or inductions.
  4. Design and manage training timetables with the Health & Wellbeing and Partnership Managers based on local needs.
  5. Contribute to the promotional process with Partnership Managers and/or other operational staff when engaging with external stakeholders.
  6. Organising presentations for promotion of the training sessions.
  7. Maintain and update own knowledge of local trends, needs and developments.
  8. Working with Service Development and Clinical Excellence to maintain and develop resources.

Administration

  1. Maintain accurate paperwork for delivery details attendance and outcomes/feedback.
  2. Plan for effective differentiation.
  3. Follow all policies and procedures as set out by Reed in Partnership.
  4. Maintaining up-to-date records within systems etc.
  5. Distributing certificates of achievements to learners in a timely and secure manner.
  6. Maintaining personal Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Log.
  7. Contribute to standardisation meetings.
  8. Update and maintain own knowledge of topics delivered, contract requirements and any relevant legislation.
  9. Provide feedback to Curriculum/Service Development and Clinical Excellence when required.
  10. Ensure completion of EOS.
  11. Create and maintain constructive Learner feedback in all areas of delivery.
  12. Maintain personal performance records in line with QPR requirements.

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with

  1. Experience of being accountable for own work e.g. following lesson plans/filling course with learners.
  2. Minimum of 2 years’ experience of delivering training/working in a training environment AND
  3. A recognised teaching/training qualification or studying for one (City and Guilds 7407 or 7304, PTLLS/CTLLS/DTLLS/Level 3 Award in Education).
  4. Experience in health & wellbeing, for example in public health, weight management, healthy eating, smoking cessation, physical activity.
  5. A minimum of 2 A-Levels or an equivalent Level 3 Diploma.
  6. GCSE English Language at a minimum of a Grade B (or equivalent Level 2 qualification) OR achievement of a Level 2 in Literacy Assessment at interview stage.
  7. Recognised teaching qualifications; Certificate of Education (Cert. Ed) or Post-Graduate Certificate in education (PGCE).
  8. Degree in relevant subject such as teaching or public health.
  9. Experience of working with a variety of groups, which may include, mental health groups, ex-services, specific ethnic minority or faith groups and those with specific disabilities.
  10. Direct previous experience of a similar role.
  11. Fluency in community languages. Community languages may include Cantonese, Mandarin, Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Somali, Vietnamese, Dari, Yoruba, Turkish, French, Spanish, Albanian, Arabic, Bengali, Farsi, Gujarati, Polish, Serbian, Greek and Portuguese (dependent on programme).
  12. Training Lead attainments include Achievement Orientation, Challenge and Resilience, Flexibility and Adaptability, Empathy and Understanding, Planning and Decision Making, Results Focused Delivery, and Team Orientation.
  13. Technical skills include knowledge of health & wellbeing topics, basic numeracy skills and good written communication/report writing skills, strong administration skills, good computer/technology skills and the ability to use technology to deliver training/courses.
  14. Personal skills include creativity, being inspirational/able to create a personal impact, being able to command attention/control a situation and being hard working/committed/highly motivated.
  15. Personal interests include a willingness to learn, commitment to equality of opportunity and an interest in people.
  16. Personal circumstances include a willingness to travel locally (e.g. to develop/deliver training/meet learners/key stakeholders).
