At Colchester United Football Club, we re looking for a talented and motivated individual to take the lead at our Florence Park Training Ground in Tiptree where food isn t just fuel, it s a key part of our success.

This is more than just cooking. As our Training Ground Chef, you ll play a vital part in delivering nutritious, delicious meals that support the performance and wellbeing of our First Team, U21s, Academy players, and club staff. You ll work closely with our Head of Catering and Head of Sports Science to develop menus that are both inspiring and impactful.

And there s more you ll also get hands-on with matchday events at the stadium, assist with high-profile functions, and help shape the future of food at Colchester United.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead Food Production: Deliver high-quality meals that meet performance goals and dietary needs.
  2. Menu Planning & Innovation: Collaborate with the Head of Catering and Sports Science team to design fresh, seasonal, and purpose-built menus.
  3. Procurement & Stock Control: Take ownership of sourcing and managing kitchen supplies, ensuring top standards are maintained.
  4. Presentation & Service: Prepare and present food that looks as good as it tastes, reflecting the professionalism of the club.
  5. Build Strong Relationships: Engage positively with players, staff, and guests to provide outstanding dining experiences.
  6. Ensure Health & Safety Compliance: Maintain rigorous food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
  7. Support Matchdays & Events: Bring your skills to the stadium during busy matchdays and club functions when needed.

The Details:

Location: Florence Park Training Ground (Tiptree) & Colchester United Football Club

Hours: Full Time 40 hours per week

Mostly daytime shifts with some evenings for events and matches

Salary: GBP28,000 GBP30,000
