Job description

Are you passionate about delivering innovative and engaging media solutions that enhance learning experiences? We have an exciting opportunity for a Training Developer to join our client's Training Transformation Team on a project, supporting the Royal Navy.


About the Role:


As the Training Developer, you will be responsible for driving forward the development of media content that supports training transformation. This role will allow you to make a real difference by enhancing blended, active learning experiences for the Royal Navy.


You will be responsible for supervising media production, ensuring the highest quality standards, and working as a team to create interactive, innovative, and engaging training media. While there are no direct line management duties, you will have supervisory and task management responsibilities.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the design and development of high-quality media for training transformation.
  2. Supervise the production of graphics, interactive media, and training course materials.
  3. Ensure training content aligns with inclusive and learner-centric principles.
  4. Act as a technical lead, ensuring adherence to Defence policy and quality assurance standards.
  5. Build strong stakeholder relationships with subject matter experts to drive innovation and ensure content accuracy.
  6. Report on media production progress, identifying and resolving challenges proactively.
  7. Maintain and administer media course content/documentation within Defence Learning Environments (Moodle).

Skills & Experience Required:

  1. Extensive experience in Training Design Media development, ideally within a defence/military environment.
  2. Strong collaboration, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  3. A passion for learning, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  4. Ability to interpret technical and non-technical information into engaging visual media.
  5. High attention to detail with excellent IT skills (Microsoft Office, Articulate 360 & LMS).

Desirable Skills:

  1. Knowledge of AGILE methodology and ADDIE model.
  2. Understanding of Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT).
  3. Experience in Instructional Design and Programme Management tools.
  4. Familiarity with UK Ministry of Defence procedures and policies.
