Salary: £28,168 - £39,244 per annum

Location: Trowbridge / Cross College

Permanent, Full Time: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Wiltshire College & University Centre have an exciting opportunity for a Trainer/Assessor in Plant Construction Maintenance to join our team.

Trainer/Assessor in Plant Construction Maintenance - The Role:

Do you have a passion for nurturing talent and helping learners achieve their best in the field of Plant Construction Maintenance? Wiltshire College & University Centre is looking for an enthusiastic Trainer/Assessor to join our vibrant team at the Lackham Campus. This role offers the chance to inspire the next generation of industry professionals, with a focus on delivering exceptional training and support across apprenticeship programmes.

This role is based at our Lackham campus; however, you will be required to travel to other parts of the country to carry out student visits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Inspiring Training: Provide outstanding training, guidance, and assessment for apprentices, supporting their personal and professional development to achieve their apprenticeship standards, qualifications, and functional skills before their EPA gateway.
  • Personalised Training Plans: Collaborate with apprentices and employers to design tailored Training Plans, using skills scans and initial assessments to identify individual learning needs.
  • Progress Monitoring: Use e-portfolio systems to track and report on apprentices’ development in Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviours (KSBs), ensuring they remain on target to succeed.
  • Support for Success: Take a proactive approach to overcoming barriers to learning by implementing timely additional support that empowers apprentices to thrive.
  • Regular Reviews: Conduct tripartite reviews every 10 weeks with apprentices and employers to assess progress, set ambitious targets, and ensure readiness for the EPA.
  • Dynamic Record Keeping: Ensure all Training Plans and off-the-job training records are accurate, up-to-date, and demonstrate apprentices’ active engagement throughout their programme.

You:

You’re an exceptional communicator with a knack for motivating learners and building strong relationships with employers. You will need:

  • A relevant qualification in Plant Construction Maintenance or a related field.
  • Assessor qualifications (or a willingness to achieve them).
  • A strong understanding of apprenticeship standards and functional skills requirements.
  • Experience using e-portfolio systems to monitor and report on learner progress.
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment.
