About the role

Salford City College have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed trainer/assessor to join our dynamic apprenticeship delivery team. This permanent position is ideally suited to someone with an electrical installation background.

As part of the building services engineering delivery team, you will work closely with colleagues, employers and apprentices to ensure that apprentices have an outstanding learning experience, successfully achieve their apprenticeship journey and advance within their chosen career.

Responsibilities:

  1. Meeting with stakeholders (both virtually and in-person).
  2. Providing relevant information and guidance on the apprenticeship journey.
  3. Supporting apprentices to develop their knowledge, skills and behaviours.
  4. Undertaking site-based assessments.
  5. Reviewing progress with employers and apprentices.
  6. Supporting learners to achieve AM2S.
  7. Maintaining accurate records.
  8. Identifying new apprenticeship opportunities.
  9. Delivering short training courses.
  10. Helping the team to reach and exceed ambitious targets.

The ideal candidate for this role will have relevant industry experience and qualifications, experience of supporting apprentices undertaking installation or maintenance electrician apprenticeships, strong communication and customer service skills, and will ideally hold an assessor qualification. A teaching, training or IQA qualification and knowledge of e-portfolio systems would also be beneficial.
