Job Title: Trainee Transport Planner

Location: Witham, Essex

Salary: Attractive and Rewarding

Hours: Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm

Key Skills and Qualifications to succeed in this role:
  1. A keen interest in logistics and transport planning.

  6. Math's & English to a recognised GCSE standard.
  7. Excellent computer skills, accuracy and attention to detail is paramount.
  8. Basic knowledge of transport compliance and regulations (preferred but not essential).
Key duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Plan and allocate resources within the Pallet Network and Local Transport fleet.
  2. Provide a friendly and helpful Driver Reception service, ensuring efficient allocation of vehicle keys and manifests.
  3. Liaise with Night Trunk drivers to coordinate arrival schedules.
  4. Assign General Haulage consignments and customer collections to the fleet, ensuring optimal utilisation and profitability.
  5. Prepare vehicle and load manifests and liaise with the Warehouse and drivers.
  6. Act as the main point of contact for drivers and other Pallet Network depots, handling email and telephone queries professionally and efficiently.
  7. Assist in compliance by ensuring adherence to Drivers' Hours and Working Directive Regulations, maintaining accurate records.
  8. Contribute to Health & Safety initiatives, including transport risk assessments and accident investigations.
  9. React quickly to daily transport challenges with professionalism and accuracy.
