Job Title: Trainee Transport Planner

Location: Witham, Essex

Hours: Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm

Key Skills And Qualifications To Succeed In This Role

• Math's & English to a recognised GCSE standard.
• Excellent computer skills, accuracy and attention to detail is paramount.
• Basic knowledge of transport compliance and regulations (preferred but not essential).

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Plan and allocate resources within the Pallet Network and Local Transport fleet.
• Provide a friendly and helpful Driver Reception service, ensuring efficient allocation of vehicle keys and manifests.
• Liaise with Night Trunk drivers to coordinate arrival schedules.
• Assign General Haulage consignments and customer collections to the fleet, ensuring optimal utilisation and profitability.
• Prepare vehicle and load manifests and liaise with the Warehouse and drivers.
• Act as the main point of contact for drivers and other Pallet Network depots, handling email and telephone queries professionally and efficiently.
• Assist in compliance by ensuring adherence to Drivers Hours and Working Directive Regulations, maintaining accurate records.
• Contribute to Health & Safety initiatives, including transport risk assessments and accident investigations.
• React quickly to daily transport challenges with professionalism and accuracy.
