Job description

Role: Trainee Recruitment Consultant

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne

Hours - Full Time:

  1. 7.30am - 4pm x2 days per week
  2. 7.30am - 5pm x2 days per week
  3. 7.30am - 4.30pm Fridays
  4. Work from home Wednesdays
  5. Reduced hours (9am - 3pm) in school holidays

We are looking to appoint a Trainee Recruitment Consultant to join our successful, fun and lively team in Newcastle, where you will be working with schools across the North East. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the market leaders in education recruitment, recruiting high-quality teaching and support staff for short, long-term placements and permanent roles.

We have a growing team with clear progression and the chance to earn an uncapped amount of commission in a team-oriented and fun office.

The role:

Vision for Education can offer an unrivalled service to both schools and teachers. You will provide a vital link between clients and candidates. The role is demanding and diverse and involves:

  1. Working with a large client base - many of the schools nationally work exclusively with Vision for Education.
  2. Using sales, business development and marketing techniques and networking opportunities to attract business from client schools.
  3. Visiting clients to build and develop close working relationships.
  4. Developing a good understanding of client schools; what they do and their culture and environment.
  5. Using social media to advertise positions, attract candidates and build relationships with candidates, employers, and the teaching community.
  6. Headhunting - identifying and approaching suitable candidates who may already be in work.
  7. Using candidate databases to match the right person to the client's vacancy.
  8. Receiving and reviewing applications, managing interviews, and creating a shortlist of candidates for the client.
  9. Requesting references and checking the suitability of applicants before submitting their details to the client.
  10. Briefing the candidate about the responsibilities, salary, and benefits of the job.
  11. Preparing CVs and correspondence to forward to clients in respect of suitable applicants.
  12. Organising interviews for candidates as requested by the client.
  13. Informing candidates about the results of their interviews.
  14. Using our Salesforce system to manage bookings.
  15. Coordinating sponsorship activities for client schools.

The successful Recruitment Consultant will have/be:

  1. Valid UK licence with access to own vehicle a must.
  2. Excellent communication and sales skills.
  3. The ability to grow their desk from the start.
  4. Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  5. An ability to organise their own workload and meet deadlines.
  6. Self-motivated and resilient.
  7. The ability to act on their own initiative.
  8. Possess a professional and ethical approach to business.
  9. Be able to forge and maintain relationships over the telephone and face-to-face.
  10. Possess a desire to exceed the highest levels of customer service.
  11. Operate effectively as part of a happy, motivated team.
