Trainee Opportunity

The Right Track is looking for a Trainee to support the Project Coordinator with running an exciting youth music programme focused on learning electronic music production.

The Right Track is a programme funded by Creative Scotland’s Youth Music Initiative, where young people aged between 16-25 will be taught the fundamentals of electronic music production, and gain a more in-depth knowledge of the music industry.

The first six week programme will take place every Thursday from 3 July - 7 August. This will be followed by two full weekend programmes on 9-10 August and 13-14 September. All sessions will be held at subSine Academy of Music in Glasgow.

Along with supporting the running of the programme, the trainee can also join the lessons with participants, making this an incredible opportunity for someone who is passionate about electronic music and wants to learn about production and the music industry, whilst gaining experience working on a project.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Support the project’s administrative needs: e.g. organise travel / accommodation, respond to emails
2. Gather and create content for social media
3. Assist the team with lesson preparation and delivery
4. Liaise with external partners and guest tutors
5. Support the project’s monitoring and evaluation process
6. Any other reasonable duties appropriate to this role

MUST HAVE:

1. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
2. Strong computer skills
3. Organised, friendly and hardworking
4. Creative thinking - we encourage your input and ideas!
5. Passionate about electronic music

DESIRABLE:

1. Loves memes, puns and crisps
2. Good at darts and table tennis

Job details:

Contract: Part-time, minimum of 35 days
Working pattern: 2 days per week between 19 May – 10 August, 1 day from 11 Aug - 26 September
Salary: £12.60 p/h (real living wage), 7 hours per day
