Purpose:

Here at Deichmann, we are looking to appoint a Trainee Manager. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis and in return will receive an initial salary of £29,000 per annum. Initially based in a store in the district, following training you will support and hold stores either on a planned or ad hoc basis across the surrounding area.

Ideal candidate:

This is a really exciting opportunity for a successful and ambitious Team Member or Supervisor, looking to progress their career into Store Management.

You will undergo first-class training and development, including holding stores on a planned and ad hoc basis with a view to potentially becoming a Cover Manager at the end of your training, and then potentially on to becoming Store Manager of your own Store.

You must be fully flexible in terms of travel as you will be working in a number of different stores and you will have previous experience of working in retail or a related sector. You must be able to problem solve and think on your feet. Alongside this, you will be a people person, have the ability to plan and coordinate resources, and be passionate about delivering exceptional customer service.

Key activities:

  1. Motivate and coach the team to deliver excellent customer service
  2. Lead by example in promoting and recommending complimentary shoe care products, demonstrating confidence with selling and excellent product knowledge
  3. Resource and draft rotas, working within budget
  4. Manage stock effectively
  5. Analyze and interpret sales performance data and reports
  6. Make recommendations for ways to improve sales performance based on analysis of quantitative and qualitative data and identification of customer insights
  7. Ensure all company standards are implemented and maintained, i.e., merchandising, admin
  8. Support the delivery of KPIs, meeting all company standards
  9. Assist in recruitment and training of the team

  1. A hands-on leader, with experience in retail or a related industry sector
  2. Have a positive flexible approach with a can-do attitude
  3. Energy and enthusiasm, with the ability to work under pressure in a demanding fast-paced environment
  4. Confidence and ability to motivate, coach, and inspire the team
  5. Numerate
  6. Attention to detail
  7. Good communicator
  8. Methodical, organized, and have a structured approach to work
  9. Spatial awareness
  10. Fully flexible across the week
