Job description

This job is brought to you by Jobs/Redefined, the UK's leading over-50s age inclusive jobs board.

SDR Care is a growing business with care homes situated on the South Coast. We pride ourselves on investing in our people and we are committed to the UK Living Wage Foundation. We aim to continuously train and develop our staff to enable them to reach their full potential within our collaborative and supportive team. We have exciting plans for growth which could lead to career development opportunities for the successful candidate, as we open more homes locally and develop our supported living service.

An exciting opportunity has become available to join our team as a Trainee Deputy Manager or Deputy Manager at one of our homes in Hampshire. The home specialises in person-centred care for people with learning difficulties and autism.

We are looking for a Trainee or Deputy Manager to help bring our mission to life by supporting five wonderful individuals in living independent, fulfilling lives. In this role, you'll organise fun and meaningful activities, guide a passionate team, and work closely with the Registered Manager to maintain quality and compliance standards. Each day will bring new challenges, fresh opportunities, and plenty of reasons to smile.

Our residents typically enjoy:

  • Social outings and events
  • Creative arts and crafts
  • Cooking and trying new recipes
  • Outdoor activities and nature walks
  • Celebrating milestones and achievements

The ideal candidate might be an existing Deputy Manager, Team Leader, or an experienced Senior Support Worker who wishes to develop their career further and build upon their leadership potential. Applicants will have experience of working in a similar environment. You will be a great addition to the team if you enjoy working and interacting with people, have the right personality, and share the same values as us. We are looking for people who are enthusiastic, effective communicators, with high standards of care, who are sensitive to the needs of people with learning disabilities, and who demonstrate leadership qualities or potential to guide and inspire others.

Working hours are 40 hours per week (including 8 hours admin time per week). You will also be part of the 24hr on call rota; a flexible approach to work is essential. You will work on the floor providing care to service users and supporting the team, as well as spending time off the floor supporting the Registered Manager in the general running and compliance of the home.

Our Values form an integral part of our business and as such we would seek applicants that can demonstrate:

  1. Kindness, Dignity & Respect: Integral to the culture of our Company; treat people with kindness, dignity, and respect then our work will be rewarding and fulfilling.
  2. Calmness: Every decision we make is better when made with a calm and composed approach; calmness helps us to manage the challenges and demands we face.
  3. Creativity: Embrace creativity to find innovative solutions in our work.
  4. Responsibility: Take responsibility for our own actions, attitude, impact, and career development.

  • a caring and supportive person
  • able to work independently, as well as part of a team
