Are you a recent graduate looking for paid teaching experience? Are you a career-changer who has always considered a role in education and wants to gain experience as a Trainee Cover Supervisor?

Our partnering Secondary school in Canvey Island is seeking confident individuals who are passionate about education to work as Trainee Cover Supervisors. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work on a flexible schedule, either full-time or part-time.

The lessons will always be planned and provided in advance. It is your role as the Trainee Cover Supervisor to facilitate learning, manage classroom behaviour, record accurate registers, and provide a handover to the absent teacher. Successful Trainee Cover Supervisors are adaptable, flexible, motivated, confident, and organised, with a passion for education and supporting young people.

This role provides a great opportunity to gain experience working within a Secondary school prior to applying for Initial Teacher Training. Although previous experience in a Secondary School is desirable, it is not essential.

Minimum Requirements

The desired Trainee Cover Supervisor will have:

• A degree or equivalent education.
• Experience working with young people or a willingness to learn.
• Leadership skills and confidence to lead a classroom of up to 30 students.
• A passion for education and providing the highest possible level of support to young people.
