Trainee Chartered Audit Accountant - ACA Apprentice

Summary
We are now looking for a Trainee Audit Accountant to join our Weston-super-Mare team starting September 2025. Training to become a Chartered Accountant is both rewarding and challenging and can open huge opportunities for you; many of our staff started their career as a trainee with us and have stayed with us throughout their working life.

Annual wage: £23,000 a year. As you progress through the qualification your salary will increase.

Training course: Accountancy or taxation professional (level 7)

Hours: Monday to Wednesday, 8.45am - 5.00pm (1 hour lunch), Thursday 8.45am - 5.00pm (45 minute lunch), and Friday 8.45am - 4.30pm (45 minute lunch). Total: 36 hours a week.

Possible start date: Monday 1 September

Duration: 3 years

Work
As an apprentice, you'll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You'll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you'll do at work
You will undertake both practical and theoretical training whilst studying for your ACA qualification under an apprenticeship agreement, with a particular focus on audit. We will fund your training and provide you with paid study leave to attend the courses so you will be earning while you are learning. Back in the office or hybrid working, you will get support from more experienced staff and Partners whilst assisting on client assignments.

Some of the duties will include:

  • Preparing financial statements for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders
  • Auditing financial statements and tax compliance work
  • Visiting clients' premises to carry out your role, with a mixture of teamwork and individual projects

Training
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

College or training organisation: FIRST INTUITION LIMITED

Your training course: Accountancy or taxation professional (level 7) - Equal to master's degree.

  • Identify ethical dilemmas and understand their legal responsibilities.

  • Evaluate information quickly and draw accurate conclusions.

Your training plan
  • You will undertake both practical and theoretical training whilst studying for your ACA qualification under an apprenticeship agreement.
  • Once you have completed the course, you will be a qualified accountant. We will fund your training and provide you with paid study leave.
  • You will also receive regular pay reviews.

Requirements
Essential qualifications
  • Degree Qualified (grade Pass)

Desirable qualifications
  • GCSE or equivalent in any subject (grade 4 and upwards or grade C upwards)
