Traffic Operator - Position Overview

Our client is a market leading provider of integrated road and rail freight logistics delivering a range of services spanning container transport and storage, domestic distribution, warehousing, freight management, and truck sales.

You now have an incredible opportunity to join as a Traffic Operator at their Southampton depot working Monday to Friday with one in every four Saturdays worked.

Traffic Operator - Duties & Responsibilities

1. Dealing with multiple drivers
2. Communicating with ports
3. Booking delivery slots for entry in ports
4. Using a Transport system called TOPS for putting down drivers start times and finish times
5. Chasing drivers for ETAs and making sure they are on time
6. Rerouting jobs as and when needed
7. Checking all PODS are matched up with all the correct jobs on the system
8. Speaking to customers on possible delays advising ETAs

1. Previous experience as a Traffic Operator - Essential
2. Confident and clear communicator - written and verbal
3. Excellent UK geographical knowledge
4. Can work on own initiative
5. Quick and efficient problem solving skills
6. Organised at all times
7. Flexibility to meet the demands of the business

Starting Salary £33,000 - £36,000
Annual salary review (discretionary).
