Job Title: Traffic Management Officer
Location: Cornwall and Devon
Hours: Full-Time (8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday) - but must be flexible to working hours

Position Overview:
We are seeking a responsible and motivated Traffic Management Officer to join our team in Cornwall and Devon. This role involves managing traffic flow, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of vehicles, and assisting in maintaining traffic management plans during various operations. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to handling any traffic-related issues that arise during daily operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement traffic management plans for roadworks, events, or emergencies.
• Set up traffic control devices, including barriers, signs, cones, and traffic lights, to ensure road safety and compliance with local regulations.
• Monitor and manage traffic flow on major roads and local routes in Cornwall and Devon.
• Communicate effectively with road users and the general public, providing instructions and directions when necessary.
• Work closely with contractors, local authorities, and emergency services to coordinate safe traffic movement.
• Regularly inspect traffic management setups to ensure they meet safety standards and legal requirements.
• Report traffic incidents or disruptions promptly to relevant authorities.
• Assist in the development of traffic diversion plans and emergency procedures.
• Keep accurate records of traffic operations, incidents, and equipment.
• Adhere to all Health and Safety regulations and guidelines.

Requirements:

• Min 5 years experience in traffic management or a similar field
• Valid Traffic Management qualification - NRSWA.
• Strong understanding of traffic laws and safety protocols.
• Ability to work effectively in all weather conditions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proactive, reliable, and responsible attitude.
• Ability to respond quickly and efficiently to traffic incidents.
• Full driving license
