Company Introduction

We have an exciting opportunity now available with one of our sector-leading clients! They are currently looking for a skilled Traffic Engineer to join their team for a six-month contract.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives

This role focuses on making roads and parking work better for residents, communities, and everyone using local streets. The person in this position helps plan and put in place parking restrictions, Controlled Parking Zones (CPZs), and other road-related schemes like Zero Emission Zones (ZEZ). They make sure everything follows the correct laws and guidelines, using tools like AutoCAD and traffic design software to create clear and safe layouts. They also review data to understand what's working and what needs to improve, working closely with the public and other teams to deliver practical solutions. It's a key role in keeping traffic moving and managing on-street parking effectively.

Minimum Requirements

1. Good knowledge and understanding of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
2. Good understanding of the Traffic Regulation Order procedures.
3. Ability to carry out computer aided design using AutoCAD, KeySIGN, KeyPOST, KeyLINES, and Autotrack software. Proficient in MS Office skills (Word, Outlook, Excel etc.)
4. Significant experience working within the specified area of expertise.
5. Experience of design and implementation of traffic schemes.
6. Experience of traffic sign design.
7. Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise reports.
8. Understanding of and experience using data, insight and performance measures to assess the impact of services and inform decisions and service planning to improve outcomes.
9. Ability to drive between sites and use of own vehicle.
