Job description

A City based banking institution is recruiting within the capital markets middle office to provide support for various trading desks including Money Markets and Repo, International Rates, SSA, DCM, and Cash Equity.

Main Duties

  1. Provide day to day trade desk support to the Fixed Income, Currencies & Commodities (FICC) businesses including Money Market and Repo, International Rates, SSA trading and DCM.
  2. Point of contact for FICC trade desks, back office and respective clients on issues regarding:
    1. trade discrepancies
    2. trade verification, amendments & allocations
    3. funding
    4. position reconciliations
    5. p/l reconciliations
    6. trade booking
  3. Secured and Unsecured funding for various EMEA trading books.
  4. Support the introduction of new products, technology or processes that are in line with Business Partner initiatives participating in the analysis, testing and implementation activities.
  5. Work closely with internal and external stakeholders in support of FICC Trade Support activities.
  6. Identify potential risk situations within the scope of FICC Trade Support activities, escalating to management as required.
  7. Ensure adherence to directives, internal processes and internal approvals to mitigate Operational risks to the Bank.

Experience Required

  1. Ideally 2+ years of middle office related experience covering relevant products.
  2. University Degree in related discipline.
  3. A good understanding of FICC Products - Interest Rate Swaps, Derivatives.
  4. Theoretical knowledge around interest rate calculations and discounting.
  5. An understanding of front to back trade flow.
