Tractor Driver job - North Yorkshire

We have an exciting opportunity for a tractor driver with a keen eye for detail and good communication skills to join our farm team at Askham Bryan College Farm. We are a mixed farming enterprise just outside York covering 200ha. We seek an individual who will work alongside the current team at Westfield Farm, assisting with all duties relating to the dairy, sheep, and beef enterprises. The farm milks 150 pedigree Holstein Friesen cows twice a day through a 10/10 rapid exit parlour and 60 through a robotic system. The farm rears all its beef x dairy calves through a brand-new calf rearing and beef rearing system. The farm also has a flock of 200 breeding ewes lambing in March. We also farm a small block of arable growing a mixture of crops including Maize, Wheat, Barley, Sugar beet, and vining peas.

Your main responsibility will be the TMR diet feeding of all livestock on the farm, operating and maintaining all machinery on the farm to a high standard, and assisting with the livestock enterprises where necessary. This role is very varied and provides an excellent opportunity for an individual to expand their knowledge and experience in a variety of different enterprises.

The individual will need sufficient experience of TMR feeding and must have a telehandler certificate and driver's license. Any further training will be provided. The successful candidate will be required to work in accordance with the Rota, which includes weekend work. The Rota allows for four days off fortnightly including a 3-day weekend. The role includes 35 days annual leave in addition to bank holidays and a very good pension scheme.
