The Town Planning team collectively provides a specialist in-house town planning service to all parts of Network Rail in the Southern Region.
The Town Planning Technician plays a key role in supporting the work of the team and providing technical support and assistance, working closely with internal teams and stakeholders. A large part of the role involves assessing, consulting, and responding to town planning consultations for third-party development near the railway within statutory deadlines.
The role also provides the opportunity for an introduction to town planning and to be involved in dealing with town planning matters affecting the railway, engaging with developers and Local Authorities to help secure investment into the railway and reviewing Local Plans and third-party planning applications.
Salary: Band 5, ranging from £24,960 - £29,469 per annum plus London Allowance.
