Location: York

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Planners at all levels to join a dynamic and forward-thinking planning consultancy based in York. Whether you are a Planner, Senior Planner, Principal, or Associate Director, this role offers the chance to work on a diverse range of projects and make a meaningful impact in the industry.

About the Role

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality planning services, collaborating with urban designers, and ensuring successful project outcomes. Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing planning projects from inception to completion.
  • Providing strategic planning advice to clients and stakeholders.
  • Preparing planning applications and supporting documentation.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Leading and mentoring junior team members.
  • Contributing to business development and identifying new opportunities.
  • Representing the company at meetings, public consultations, and events.
  • Collaborating with urban designers to develop creative planning solutions.

About You
  • A degree in Town Planning or a related field.
  • Chartered Membership of RTPI or equivalent (required for Principals and Associate Directors).
  • Experience in planning consultancy:
    • Planners: 3+ years
    • Senior Planners: 5+ years
    • Associate Directors: 8+ years
  • Strong knowledge of the UK planning system.
  • Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive and ambitious approach to planning and development.
  • Familiarity with planning-related software is a plus.
