Job description

Beautiful Boutique Tour Operator have a rare part-time opportunity to support their sales and operations from home! Working weekday mornings primarily, this will suit someone with previous experience in Tour Operations, keen to work 20 hours per week over 5 days. You will handle customer enquiries, sales, bookings and aftersales in a varied role. Starting salary is £24k pa, plus commission. The successful candidate must have previous travel industry experience in a similar role, and be Midlands based for team meet ups.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  1. Answer phone calls, manage enquiries, and handle some sales enquiries on behalf of the Sales Manager.
  2. Assist preparing detailed quotations, itineraries, and following up until the sale is finalized.
  3. Process the confirmed booking including your own and other sales team bookings. Ensure all elements, including hotels, transfers, and tours, are properly confirmed.
  4. When receiving confirmation from overseas suppliers, verify that the price matches the cost entered in our reservation system.
  5. Confirm that deposits have been charged correctly and entered accurately into Dolphin Dynamics. If there are discrepancies, notify clients promptly to ensure proper deposit collection.
  6. Help to prepare the travel documents.
  7. Help for the new products, preparing and loading on website (full training will be given).
  8. While rare, emergency situations may arise during a client's holiday overseas, such as issues with transfers or flights. In such cases, provide assistance to resolve these problems swiftly and efficiently to ensure the client's experience remains smooth.

Educational Trips: Be flexible to attend educational trips, first one likely to be mid-May.

THE PACKAGE & HOURS:

Commission: In addition to the salary, a 5% commission will be paid. As this is a sales and operations support role, no specific sales targets are required.

Working Hours: Ideally, 4 hours per day, Monday to Friday (with occasional Saturdays required), starting at 9:00 am.

Location: Preferably West Midlands area, easy to meet time to time for team building.

Holidays: The holiday entitlement is based on 21 days for a full-time employee, prorated for part-time hours.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

You must have previous experience of working within a similar role for a Tour Operator, or if you have a travel agency background, you will have great knowledge of booking and travelling to their key destinations which are: Turkey, Greece and Croatia. Whilst this is a part-time position, you will have flexibility to work full-days, with advance notice, to cover 4 weeks of holiday during the year, and flexibility to attend overseas educationals, with notice.
