Toolmaker

We're hiring for a Toolmaker to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Buxton, High Peak.

This role is ideal for someone who's time-served, confident working with press and mould tools, and enjoys improving processes as part of a close-knit team.

What's on offer?

1. Up to £36,000 per year (d.o.e)
2. Rotating shift pattern
3. Monday - Friday 6:00am - 2:00pm / 2:00pm - 10:00pm
4. 25 days holiday + bank holidays (rising by 0.5 days each year for 5 years)

What will you be doing as a Toolmaker?

1. Regrinding and repairing press tools and machine spares
2. Using equipment such as manual millers, lathes, surface grinders and CNC millers
3. Interpreting detailed engineering drawings and working to tight tolerances
4. Using precision measuring equipment to ensure all parts meet specifications
5. Manufacturing and improving production components and supporting preventative maintenance
6. Driving process efficiency and supporting continuous improvement initiatives

What do you need?

1. Time-served background in toolmaking
2. Experience with press and mould tools
3. Ability to interpret technical engineering drawings
4. Skilled in the use of a wide range of manual and CNC machinery
