Tooling Design Engineer
Leicester
Salary: £30,000 - £42,000 (DOE)
Full-time | Permanent

The Company:

Our client is a leading manufacturer of precision-engineered cutting tools, specialising in bespoke cutting tools for the Aerospace and Automotive sectors.

With a reputation for high-quality design and manufacturing, they continue to grow, offering a stable and innovative work environment.

As part of this expansion, we have a permanent opportunity for a Tooling Design Engineer to join our team in Leicester.

The Role:

This is a varied and engaging position within a precision engineering environment, focusing on the design of bespoke broach cutting tools. You will be involved in both technical design and problem-solving, working closely with customers and internal teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Your key responsibilities will include:

1. Producing design layouts for quotation purposes.
2. Developing technical designs and specifications for broach tools based on customer requirements.
3. Creating 2D and 3D CAD production drawings using AutoCAD and Inventor.
4. Assisting with root cause analysis of technical issues and providing general design support.
5. Supporting the production department with technical queries.

What We're Looking For:

We are seeking an experienced Tooling Design Engineer with a background in precision engineering and tool design.

The ideal candidate will have:

1. Experience in an Engineering Design role, using 2D and 3D CAD.
2. Autodesk Inventor experience is essential.
3. A minimum qualification of HNC (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering.
4. A strong understanding of precision engineering and tooling design.
5. Problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with technical and production teams.
