Leading international law firm are looking to hire an additional Associate/ Senior Associate to join their Global Technology, Media & Telecommunications group - this role can be based in Glasgow or Edinburgh and hybrid-working is also available.

Role Profile:

This is an exceptional opportunity to join a Tier 1 ranked TMT team working on a diverse range of work including: technology, intellectual property, telecoms, commercial contracts, and data protection. The team works with an interesting variety of clients across all sectors, with specific expertise in technology, retail, engineering, logistics, financial services, food and drink, and life sciences. You can expect a broad mix of work ranging from commercial contracts, technology contracts, outsourcing, intellectual property strategy and transactions, as well as data privacy work. You will work on a range of matters including:

  • Advising on market leading TMT projects and transactions for a variety of clients across the UK and internationally.
  • Building and maintaining client relationships, with a good level of client contact.
  • Contributing to business development, raising your own profile and supporting the continued growth of the practice.
  • Contributing to thought leadership and raising the profile of the firm externally.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience of non-contentious TMT work - commercial contracts, technology contracts, outsourcing, intellectual property & data privacy.
  • Ideally, you will also have TMT support work e.g. drafting the commercial/TMT section of due diligence reports, negotiating warranties and indemnities.
  • Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Experience of providing client seminars and training.
  • Advanced legal research skills.
  • Experienced in contributing to business development activities.
  • Dedication to client service.
  • A keen interest in technology, and an understanding of how businesses implement and use technology.
