The Security Engineering SRE team plays a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, maintainability, and performance of a diverse set of security products broadly reaching across all areas of our business. We are an integral part of the organization, with deep integration into nearly every technical system within the company.

As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to deliver impactful work, contributing to solutions that support the delivery of the TikTok application, along with a variety of services that are essential to nearly every internal system, and a range of products offered on the Volcano public cloud platform.

Responsibilities include:

1. Improving the reliability and maintainability of services through consultation, design and implementation
2. Automating common problems
3. Identifying SLA/SLO/SLI of services and implementing tools to measure them
4. Managing large scale Kubernetes and Linux deployments

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

1. Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree or above, graduating in 2025 and must be available to start in May or September 2025 in London.
2. English proficiency
3. Experience of working within Software Engineering, SRE or DevOps environments
4. Proficiency with at least one programming language
5. Strong understanding of Linux systems
6. Familiar with Site Reliability Engineering concepts (SLI/SLA/SLO/Error Budgets)
7. Security mindset
8. Fundamental systems knowledge: Networking, Filesystems, Operating systems

Preferred qualifications:

1. Studying an Engineering or Computing degree
2. Experience working with lower level system components (Kernel, TCP/IP)
3. Experience with the Go programming language
4. Experience with Kubernetes and containerisation technologies
5. Knowledge of PKI and cryptography fundamentals
6. Autonomous spirit, data-driven, and results-oriented
