An established industry player in live events is seeking a Theatre Technician to join their tech team in Cardiff. This role involves operating sound and lighting equipment for a variety of performances, including comedy and music shows. The Glee Club Cardiff is located in Mermaid Quay, in Cardiff Bay. We have a 450 seat auditorium, where we hold our live stand up comedy shows every Thursday, Friday & Saturday evening. We also host touring comedy shows and live music, drag & spoken word during the week.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking person, with experience in sound & lighting to join our tech team. The majority of our shows are simple stand up shows that require a basic knowledge of audio engineering and how to operate a Chamsys lighting desk. We are looking for someone confident, that can stay calm under pressure and can problem solve and troubleshoot if and when things go wrong.
Pay: Base rate £14.60 per hour. Can be up to £16 per hour including our productivity bonus scheme. Paid 4 weekly.

Things To Know:
Shifts usually start between 5pm - 6.00pm (sometimes as early as 3pm on music shows) and generally finish between 10.00pm and 11.30pm. Typical 4-6 hour shift.
Free tickets to shows you're not working * (if they are our shows)
Shifts finish early enough to still go out afterwards.
Productivity scheme which could mean an extra £1.50 per hour, on that shift, if targets are hit.
