The Test Technician Apprenticeship Programme:
As part of your apprenticeship, you will complete:
What will I be doing?
• Build and set up test equipment for landing gear testing.
• Assembly and fault-finding of electrical installations (e.g. PLC, HMI, Wiring harnesses), with the aid of electrical schematics.
• Assembly, fault finding, and maintenance of hydraulic systems.
• Compiling electrical schematics.
• Calibration of transducers.
• Strain-gauge installation.
• Setting up data acquisition and control systems for testing.
• Supporting Test Engineering facility activities relating to Health & Safety and maintenance.
You will have a keen interest in science and engineering and be able to demonstrate a methodical and thorough approach to work. You will possess excellent problem-solving abilities and be a confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills. You will be a motivated, hardworking individual with excellent planning and organisational skills. The ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently will be key to your success. Successful candidates will need to have achieved, or expect to achieve at least 5 GCSEs - including Math and English - Grade A-C or 5-9, Science, and a technology.
Time will be shared between the Safran Landing Systems Services site and the Training Providers site, both located in Gloucester.
